Funeral home/Residence - Monroe, Wi.
History:
A preliminary investigation was done at this funeral home/residence, located in Monroe, Wisconsin, on
April 9th, 2005. The funeral home (which also includes the living quarters), was built in 1924. The funeral
home is, at this time, not in use and at the time of our preliminary investigation, was only being used as a
home dwelling. Despite its age, it has not had as many owners as one might assume. The most recent,
a young couple and their female friend. They have since left because of the "uncomfortable" feelings
associated with the home. The building consists of the main floor, which was the funeral parlor. The
upstairs area is/was the living quarters for the funeral director/mortician and his family and the young
couple and the friend who were there at the time of the preliminary investigation. The basement is where
much activity has been reported. This area is where the mortician did much of his work. The embalming
table, embalming fluid, scalpels (some with the flesh still on), tubes, bottles and medical equipment are
still present there now. Many caskets were seen throughout the other rooms in the basement as well.
There is also an attic.

Reported Activity:
The couple and their friend had lived there seven months. In that time they report: lights in kitchen turned
on & off on a couple of occasions, the restroom upstairs (living quarters) gives off a 'watcher' feeling. A
male presence throughout the house. Cold spots in areas of the basement, as well as kitchen and
upstairs restroom. When asked if the animals had any reactions to activity, she stated that her cat,
"Draws her claws, stands ground. Had one cat that would howl throughout the upstairs if we weren't
visible. He no longer does at our new place." Most active room or rooms?, "On main floor by restroom to
elevator doorway...upstairs in bathroom...attic behind or near the cabinets...downstairs embalming room
and room underneath basement stairwell."  Most unusual experience? "While I was working on some
things in our office, I heard the downstairs entryway open and what sounded like someone was walking
upstairs. Anyway, when I got up from my desk to meet my guest, nobody was there, and the downstairs
entry door was opened. I called out and no one was there. I ended up running downstairs and out the
door to a friend/neighbors house." How often do experiences occur? "Once or twice a month. Usually
during the afternoon or early evening."  Also mentioned, "Male, male, male presence throughout the
house, especially when I'm in the house alone. We lived here seven months and had lost all heart and
interest in the house. It became an empty shell here. We started calling it 'Amityville 2' because the
moment one of us would walk in the door, we would immediately turn on each other. Just completely
irrational thoughts while we were here and just wanted to leave. So that's what we did."

Investigations:
The investigation took place on July 9th, 2005. Three investigators present. Moon at waxing crescent.
Solar xrays-active. Geomagnetic field-unsettled. Length of investigation-4 hours. There were no
abnormal fluctuations in temperature gauges, EM meter or EMF detectors. No positive photos. E.V.P.
were captured in every room; all three EVP classes were heard. While upstairs in the living quarters,
while taking photographs and equipment readings, Vicki and Amy did hear the sound of a bell ring, one
time, in the living room (unfortunately, this was not picked up during an E.V.P. session.). All sources were
checked for an explainable cause for this and none were found.
Photos were negative. EVP was positive
and samples can be heard below.

Conclusion:
We have no doubt that the people who lived here experienced something that frightened them enough to
make them want to leave. Unfortunately, there was simply not enough scientific data compiled at this
time, for us to say with certainty that what they were experiencing was a haunting . All meters remained at
their normal levels; nothing noted out of the ordinary.
